Drawing review, DFM input and process planning before a single cut is made.
Part development is where a customer drawing becomes a manufacturing plan. Our engineering team reviews critical dimensions, datums, weld symbols and material callouts, and flags anything that would make a part hard to hold in tolerance before it reaches the machine.
For new or complex components, this stage includes design-for-manufacture input — suggesting a fixturing change, a material substitution or a sequencing change that keeps cost and lead time down without compromising the drawing intent.
The output of this stage is a process plan: which machines the part runs on, in what order, with what fixturing and what inspection checkpoints — the same plan our machinists and quality team follow through to dispatch.
This is also where first-article and prototype work lives, so a new design can be proven out on a single part before it's committed to a production batch.
